Ray Sills


Ray Sills, of the Jacksonville, Il congregation, serves in the priesthood office of Evangelist.  He was ordained to the office of Evangelist in September 1986.

Prior to his role of Evangelist, Ray held the offices of:  Priest, Elder, and High Priest.  He has held a number of church leadership roles, including:

  • Lawton, OK – Counselor and Pastor

  • Covina, CA – Counselor and Pastor

  • Jacksonville, IL – Counselor and Pastor

  • Central IL District – Counselor and District President

Ray and his wife Darlene, live in Jacksonville, IL.  They have four grown children, and ten grand children.

Ray’s current church responsibilities in the Jacksonville congregation include: Secretary and Outreach International representative.

Ray is involved in the Jacksonville community in a number of ways, including:

  • a member of the Jacksonville Council of Churches

  • a member of an Investment Club that meets at the Jacksonville Public Library

  • Driver for the American Cancer Society in Jacksonville

  • Representative for church on the Board of Governor for Passavant Area Hospital in Jacksonville.

Ray’s educational experience includes:

  • AA Degree from Columbia College, Columbia, MO with a major in Psychology.

  • Dale Carnegie Sales training course and various leadership training courses while in the military.

  • Various Temple School courses.

Ray has provided ministry in many locations around the world, including:

  • Lawton, OK

  • Colorado Springs, CO

  • Tacoma, WA

  • Killeen, TX

  • Covina, CA

  • Destin, FL

  • Germany

  • Central IL

  • Southeast Iowa.

Ray’s favorite quote is: “Let God be God”.  He goes on to say: “Without God and his Son, life in and of itself has no real meaning therefore I proclaim God as my creator and His Son as my Savior.”
