Feb 18, 2014 Trish (Hixon) Gorda Brush Creek I attended Junior, Senior, and family reunions all through my childhood during the 60’s, 70’s, and 80’s. This was back when the church was the RLDS church. I have not been back to Brush Creek since the mid 80’s and I miss is terribly. Many nights I actually dream of the cabin my family always stayed in and the many hours of worshiping Christ in God’s glorious nature. I remember the peace I felt just walking through the grounds and experiencing God at the most basic level. I remember the old tabernacle before it was air conditioned and was a little sad when it was remodeled. Brush Creek is where I truly felt closest to God. I would love to come back for a visit and re-connect with the grounds, cabins, and worship gathering places. I was forever changed by my experiences there and will always be grateful. God bless.

Brush Creek John Wight and I were off the grounds for an afternoon. We returned just as song service was beginning. (this was before the A/C had been installed and all five doors were open in the auditorium). As we got out of the car, we could hear the opening chords to “All Hail the Power of Jesus’ Name”. We ran to the double doors, arriving just in time to join in the first chorus. We were breathing hard and grinning from ear to ear!
